Counterfeit hair dryers are not a branding problem. They are a mains-powered heating appliance built by someone with no accountability, held close to a person’s head, in a wet room. We take reports of them seriously, and we would rather hear about one from you than have you find out the hard way.
Where LeLunar products are genuinely sold
LeLunar products are sold only through our official channels:

We also supply approved retailers and distributors who hold a wholesale account with us, and salons and spas with a B2B agreement. Any other seller presenting itself as LeLunar, or as an authorised LeLunar reseller, is not one. If you are unsure whether a seller is legitimate, ask us before you buy — a single e-mail to info@lelunar.com costs nothing and takes a moment to answer.
Why this matters for your safety
A hair dryer combines a high-speed motor, a heating element and mains voltage in a handheld device used near water. Genuine units are engineered and certified against that reality. Counterfeits routinely are not.
- Uncertified heating elements may lack the thermal cut-outs that stop a unit overheating when airflow is blocked — the exact failure that starts fires.
- Substandard mains wiring and insulation creates a genuine risk of electric shock, particularly in a bathroom.
- Missing or fake safety certification means no independent body has ever verified the product against EU electrical safety requirements.
- Uncontrolled temperature can damage hair severely, with no relationship to the settings printed on the housing.
- No recourse. If it fails, there is nobody to hold responsible.
This is not a scare tactic to protect a price. It is the reason certification exists.
How to spot a counterfeit
- Packaging that is not quite right — off colours, blurred or pixelated print, spelling errors, a logo with the wrong proportions, or a flimsy box.
- No serial number, or a serial that looks printed on rather than properly applied.
- Missing CE / UKCA documentation — no declaration of conformity, no safety leaflet, or marks that look crudely reproduced.
- An implausible price. Our promotional pricing is set by us and stated openly on our own product pages. A price far below what we ourselves charge is not a better deal; it is a different product.
- No 2-year guarantee. Every genuine LeLunar carries the 2-year EU legal conformity guarantee. A seller who cannot honour that is not selling a genuine unit.
- A marketplace seller claiming to be LeLunar — using our name, our photography or our product copy under an unrelated storefront name.
- Contents that do not match. A genuine unit ships with the accessories we list. A Pro that arrives without its metal tripod and condenser styling cup is a warning sign.
- Finishes we do not make. Our four finishes are Sunset Rose, Amber Gold, Bondi Blue and Space Grey.
How to report one
E-mail info@lelunar.com with the subject line Counterfeit report and include as much of the following as you have:
- The listing URL, or the marketplace and shop name
- Screenshots of the listing, including the images and the price — listings are often deleted once challenged, so a screenshot is frequently the only surviving evidence
- The seller name and any contact details shown
- What was paid, and the currency, if a purchase was made
- Photographs of the product and its packaging, if you have it in hand
You do not need to be certain. A partial report is far more useful than no report, and we would much rather investigate something that turns out to be legitimate than miss something that is not. We treat every report confidentially.
If you have already bought one
Stop using it. Unplug it and do not run it again. Then raise a dispute with the marketplace or your payment provider — most offer buyer protection against counterfeit goods, and your screenshots will matter there too.
Please understand clearly: counterfeit units carry no guarantee and cannot be serviced, repaired or replaced by us. We have no way to make safe a product we did not build. That is not a policy we are choosing; it is a limit of what is possible.
